Jauregui Completes Walk-Off Win for Bradenton in the Ninth
Brazoban crushes solo homer, Ramirez and Reeder earn two-hit nights
With two outs in the ninth, Cristian Jauregui drove in Richard Ramirez on an RBI single to complete a 3-2 walk-off victory for the Bradenton Marauders (4-6, 35-40) over the Daytona Tortugas (5-4, 26-49) on Tuesday from LECOM Park. Bralyn Brazoban socked his first Single-A homer, while Richard Ramirez and Canon Reeder each connected for two-hit nights.
The Marauders began the scoring in the bottom of the fourth off Tortugas starter Stharlin Torres. Brazoban crushed a solo homer to right, putting Bradenton up 1-0.
In the bottom of the sixth, Bradenton extended the lead off Daytona reliever Justin Henschel. Antonio Pimentel singled, moved to second on a groundout, and reached third on a fielder’s choice. A sacrifice flyout from Brent Iredale allowed Pimentel to score and make it a 2-0 ballgame.
Daytona scratched across a run in the seventh and eighth innings to tie the game, 2-2.
In the bottom of the ninth, Ramirez doubled and came around to score on a base hit by Jauregui to finalize a 3-2 win for Bradenton.
Brandon Cain (2-1) earned the win, letting up a run on a hit, two walks, and two strikeouts over 2.0 frames. Henschel (1-5) took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits, two walks, and three strikeouts over 3.2 innings.
The Marauders and Tortugas play game two of a six-game series on Wednesday from LECOM Park. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
