Jerry Hill Memorial Kids Fishing Tournament Returns to Tom Bennett Park in May
A long-standing Bradenton tradition is set to return this spring as the Jerry Hill Memorial Kids Fishing Tournament welcomes young anglers to Tom Bennett Park. Established in 1987, the annual event continues to provide a fun and family-friendly opportunity for children ages 5 to 14 to enjoy the outdoors while learning and practicing fishing skills.
The tournament is open to participants of all experience levels, making it accessible for beginners and seasoned young anglers alike. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in each age category, with fish measured from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail.
Bait will be provided for all participants, though attendees are required to bring their own fishing rods. A limited number of loaner rods will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Tom Bennett Park. Registration opens April 1, and early sign-up is encouraged.
