Jess Jewelers Expands Community Impact with Swim Lesson Sponsorships and Charity Fishing Tournament
Jess Jewelers is continuing its commitment to giving back to the Manatee County community by supporting two initiatives focused on improving the lives of local children and families.
The longtime local business is sponsoring children to receive free swim lessons through the AQUAlibrium Drowning Prevention Program, an initiative operated by Big Dreams Through Small Steps. The program provides swim lesson scholarships to help children develop essential water safety and swimming skills, reducing the risk of drowning while making lessons accessible to families who may not otherwise be able to afford them.
The sponsorship comes as demand for the program continues to grow, with hundreds of families applying for assistance this year. Contributions from community partners, such as Jess Jewelers, help expand the number of children who can participate in life-saving swim instruction.
In addition to supporting water safety, Jess Jewelers is also hosting its 5th Annual Jess Jewelers Suncoast Fishing Challenge, with proceeds benefiting Just for Girls of Manatee. The organization provides leadership development, educational support, mentoring, and enrichment opportunities that empower young girls throughout the community.
The tournament will take place July 17-18 at Bahia Mar West Marina, 6918 14th St. W. in Bradenton. Activities include a captain’s meeting, competitive fishing, a kids’ fishing tournament, silent and live auctions, a fish fry, and an awards ceremony. Prize money includes $4,500 for first place, along with trophies for the top three finishers.
By investing in both drowning prevention and youth development, Jess Jewelers continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting local nonprofits and creating opportunities that benefit children and families across Manatee County.
