Jocelyn’s Journey: Embracing Opportunities at Pace Manatee and the Upcoming Lucky Ducky Race for Pace
This #BelievingInGirlsMonth and #WomensHistoryMonth, Pace Manatee celebrates the resilience and achievements of its students, including highlighting Jocelyn's inspiring journey. Her story reflects the transformative power of support, determination, and the opportunities Pace provides.
Before joining Pace Manatee, Jocelyn faced personal and academic challenges that left her uncertain about her future. At Pace, she found a supportive community that believed in her potential. With encouragement from dedicated educators and mentors, Jocelyn rebuilt her confidence, set meaningful goals, and worked diligently toward her dreams. Through the program's academic support, counseling services, and leadership opportunities, she developed the skills to overcome adversity and embrace new possibilities.
Now, Jocelyn is thriving. She has improved her academic performance, discovered a passion for helping others, and is exploring future career opportunities. Most importantly, she has gained a renewed sense of self-worth and optimism for what lies ahead.
In addition to individual success stories like Jocelyn's, Pace Manatee is gearing up for its 16th Annual Lucky Ducky Race for Pace on April 12, 2025. This signature fundraising event will feature over 30,000 rubber ducks racing down the Manatee River, with exciting prizes for the winners. The grand prize includes a two-year lease on a Jeep Wrangler, sponsored by Firkins Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, or a $5,000 cash option. Other prizes include a weekly dinner for two for a year at Anna Maria Oyster Bar and a new outfit each month for a year from Teal Turtle Boutique.
Community members can participate by adopting a duck for $5, or with packages like the "Quack Pack" of five ducks for $20 or a "Flock" of 30 ducks for $100. Proceeds from the event support Pace's mission to provide girls and young women opportunities for a better future through education, counseling, training, and advocacy.
The Lucky Ducky Race for Pace will take place along the Bradenton Riverwalk from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, offering food, activities, and fun leading up to the big race.
