The Farmers’ Market at Lakewood Ranch has earned national recognition as the top farmers’ market in the United States, according to the American Farmland Trust. The honor follows a nationwide competition held in August and September that invited the public to vote for their favorite markets.
More than 60,000 votes were cast in this year’s contest, with the Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market emerging as the overall winner among 1,263 participating markets.
Located at Waterside Place, the market features more than 100 vendors offering local produce, baked goods, plants, handmade crafts, and specialty items. Since its establishment, it has grown into a popular community gathering spot for residents and visitors alike.
Organizers say the recognition highlights the dedication of the market’s vendors, staff, and loyal patrons who continue to make it a Sunday tradition in Lakewood Ranch.
