Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Named a Top Hospital for 2026 by Forbes
Among 762 U.S. hospitals Nationally Recognized for Clinical Excellence
Lakewood Ranch Medical Center has been named to the 2026 Forbes list of America’s Top Hospitals. Lakewood Ranch Medical Center was one of only 29 hospitals in the state of Florida to make this list, and the only hospital in Manatee County to receive this recognition.
Introduced in 2026, the Forbes Top Hospitals list assists consumers in identifying general U.S. acute care hospitals that consistently deliver outstanding quality and value. The rating system uses independently validated measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Provider Data Catalog, assessing hospitals on patient outcomes, best practices, value and patient experience.
“We are honored to be recognized as a 2026 Top Hospitals by Forbes,” said Rob J. Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. “This distinction reflects the dedication and expertise of our entire care team who strive daily to provide exceptional, patient-centered care. Being named alongside the hospitals nationwide to earn this recognition underscores our commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and the wellbeing of the communities we proudly serve.”
A key component of the methodology is its strong emphasis on clinical patient outcomes, including mortality, survival, infection, and readmission rates. These outcomes are further adjusted for social drivers of health to support comparison of hospital quality despite differences between any given hospital’s location and patients.
This recognition follows a series of recent accolades for Facility, including being named a Leapfrog A Hospital for Safety, and a Leapfrog Top Hospital award for teaching.
