Motorists traveling through downtown Bradenton should be prepared for a temporary lane closure on Monday as work continues on the City of Bradenton’s City Park project.
A lane closure is scheduled along 13th Avenue West, just east of 9th Street West, on Monday, Aug. 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The closure is necessary to accommodate work associated with the City Park project. According to the traffic plan, the southern sidewalk and eastbound lane along 13th Avenue West between 9th Street West and 6th Street West will be closed during the work.
A detour will be in place to direct motorists around the affected area. Pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle traffic may be impacted while the closure is in effect.
City officials expect delays to be minimal, but encourage motorists traveling through the area to follow posted detour signs and use caution around construction crews and equipment.
The lane is expected to reopen after work is completed Monday afternoon.
