The Southwest Florida Water Management District has extended its Modified Phase III Water Shortage Order through March 31, 2027, keeping once-per-week lawn watering restrictions in place throughout Manatee County, including the City of Bradenton.
The restrictions were previously scheduled to expire on October 1, 2026. District officials cited below-average rainfall during the past two summer rainy seasons, which has prevented regional water supplies from fully recovering.
Under the extended order, residents must continue following designated irrigation schedules based on the last digit of their street address. The City of Bradenton has outlined the following watering schedule for its utility customers:
Monday: Addresses ending in 0 or 1
Tuesday: Addresses ending in 2 or 3
Wednesday: Addresses ending in 4 or 5
Thursday: Addresses ending in 6 or 7
Friday: Addresses ending in 8 or 9
Properties without a specific street address, including neighborhood entrances and common areas, may water on Fridays.
For properties smaller than one acre, irrigation is permitted only between 12:01 a.m. and 4 a.m. or between 8 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. on the assigned watering day.
The extended restrictions are intended to conserve regional water resources while supplies remain below normal levels. Existing watering hours and other conservation requirements remain unchanged.
Residents are encouraged to monitor their irrigation systems, repair leaks, and avoid unnecessary watering to help preserve water supplies.
