The Pittsburgh Pirates & Bradenton Marauders will host a special charity softball game between the Bradenton Police Department and Bradenton Fire Department on Thursday, November 5, at LECOM Park.
“We’re excited to see this event return and give our community another opportunity to come together, have some fun and support causes that mean a lot to our Police and Fire departments. I hope everyone comes out to cheer them on and enjoy a great night at LECOM Park,” said Bradenton Mayor Gene Brown.
Gates will open at 6:00 p.m., with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m.
“LECOM Park has always been a place where our community can come together, and we’re excited to host an evening that brings two of Bradenton’s finest groups of public servants together for some fun competition,” said Jeff Podobnik, Vice President of Florida and Dominican Republic Operations for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The event will bring members of the Bradenton Police Department and Bradenton Fire Department together for a friendly night of competition while raising money to support charities benefiting both departments.
“We work side by side with BPD every day to serve the Bradenton community, but this time we’ll be on opposite sides of the field. We’re looking forward to some friendly competition while raising money for a good cause and maybe earning a few bragging rights along the way,” said Bradenton Fire Chief Tim Geer.
Tickets are $10, with all ticket proceeds benefitting BPD and BFD charities.
Fans of all ages are invited to LECOM Park to support local first responders and enjoy an evening of softball, community, and fun.
“We’re grateful to the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders for their steadfast support of our local first responders. Boots vs. Badges is a great opportunity to bring our departments and the community together in support of a good cause, while enjoying some friendly competition on the field. We’re proud to be part of it and look forward to a great event,” said Bradenton Police Chief Josh Cramer.
