Lee Launches First Single-A Homer in Marauders 7-3 Loss to Tarpons
Perez extends on-base streak to 12 games, King Jr. works three walks
Hyun Sueng Lee drilled his first Single-A homer on a solo blast in the sixth inning during the Bradenton Marauders (27-30) 7-3 loss to the Tampa Tarpons (31-27) on Tuesday from LECOM Park. Edgleen Perez extended his on-base streak 12 games, while Eddie King Jr. worked three walks.
The Tarpons scored three runs in the first and two in the second off Marauders starter Jaiker Garcia to take a 5-0 lead.
In the bottom of the second, Bradenton scratched across their first runs of the game against Tampa starter Justin West. Richard Ramirez doubled and Lee walked to put runners on second and first. Bralyn Brazoban singled, moving Lee to third and scoring Ramirez to make it 5-1. Dylan Palmer collected a base hit to left, plating Lee to make it a 5-2 ballgame.
Down 7-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Lee parked a solo home run off Tarpons reliever Matthew Tippie to make it 7-3.
The Marauders went silent the rest of the way, finalizing a 7-3 victory for the Tarpons.
Greyson Carter (3-0) notched the win, walking one and picking up a strikeout over 2.0 scoreless innings. Garcia (0-3) took the loss, letting up five runs on five hits, four walks, and a strikeout over 3.0 frames.
Bradenton and Tampa continue a six-game series on Wednesday with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. From LECOM Park.
