Lena Road Landfill to Host Free Household Hazardous Waste and E-Scrap Disposal Saturday
The Lena Road Landfill will be open this Saturday, January 17, to provide Manatee County residents with a free opportunity to safely dispose of Household Hazardous Waste and electronic scrap.
The collection event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lena Road Landfill, located at 3333 Lena Road in Bradenton. Trained staff will be on site throughout the day to accept materials and ensure they are handled properly.
This event is limited to Household Hazardous Waste and E-Scrap only. Accepted items typically include paints, chemicals, batteries, and electronic devices. Residents should note that other types of waste will not be accepted as part of the free event and may still be disposed of at the landfill for the standard fee.
Officials with Manatee County encourage residents to take advantage of the event as a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of hazardous materials that should not be placed in regular trash.
Additional details about accepted items and disposal guidelines are available at mymanatee.org/hhw. Residents may also call 941-792-8811 for more information.
