Local Housing Nonprofit Reaches 30-Home Goal Eight Months Ahead of Schedule
A local housing nonprofit has reached a major milestone in its 30th Anniversary campaign, completing its goal of building 30 homes in fewer than 30 months while also surpassing a $3 million fundraising goal months ahead of schedule.
The campaign launched in August 2024 with the objective of building 30 homes over a 30-month period. Although the campaign is scheduled to continue through February 2027, the organization achieved the construction milestone eight months earlier than planned.
The 30th completed home was finished in June 2026 for Barry, a longtime Manatee County resident whose home suffered extensive storm damage. With support from donors, volunteers, sponsors and community partners, the organization purchased the property, rebuilt the home from the ground up while preserving its original exterior walls, and returned the homeowner to a safe and secure residence.
The organization also met its $3 million fundraising goal in May 2026, several months ahead of schedule. Officials credited community support, including financial contributions, volunteer service, sponsorships and partnerships, for helping the campaign reach both milestones.
With those achievements complete, the nonprofit has shifted its focus to a new objective: selling 26 homes during the 2026 calendar year. The effort is part of its ongoing mission to expand homeownership opportunities and address the continuing need for affordable housing in the community.
