Local Teacher Honored for Military and Educational Service at Tampa Bay Lightning Game
Lieutenant Colonel Jennifer Pearson was recognized with a standing salute during a Tampa Bay Lightning game for her distinguished military service and dedication to education.
Pearson joined the U.S. Air Force in 2004 and has completed deployments with the 380th Expeditionary Wing in 2009 and 2010-11. She currently serves as a Public Affairs Officer with the 927th Air Refueling Wing at MacDill Air Force Base, where she advises commanders and senior leaders on internal and external communications while supporting community programs.
Her exemplary service has earned her the Meritorious Service Medal and the Joint Service Commendation Medal. Beyond her military career, Pearson is also an educator, teaching World and U.S. History at the Manatee School for the Arts, where she continues to shape young minds with the same dedication she brings to her military role.
The tribute at the Lightning game highlighted her unwavering commitment to her country and students, demonstrating the impact of her leadership in and out of uniform.
