A 64-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead in a parking lot along U.S. 41 Thursday night, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a 911 call at approximately 11:15 p.m. at a parking lot near the former WingHouse Bar and Grill, near U.S. 41 and 51st Avenue Drive West.
When deputies arrived, they found a woman dead in the parking lot with injuries investigators determined were consistent with a homicide.
Deputies also encountered Rodney Booth, 64, at the scene. Booth was taken into custody and has been charged with murder.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
