Manatee Children’s Services recently celebrated the groundbreaking of its new Parenting Center, marking a significant investment in family support, parent education, and child abuse prevention in Manatee County.
The new facility will provide a dedicated space focused on strengthening families, supporting parents, and promoting safe, healthy environments for children. The project reflects the organization’s commitment to prevention and early intervention by helping families access the resources and guidance needed to build stronger foundations.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together Manatee Children’s Services staff and board members, representatives from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation, the Hope & Hunger Foundation, and Bradenton Mayor Gene Brown. KMI Development was also recognized for its involvement in bringing the project to life.
For 50 years, Manatee Children’s Services has worked to protect children, support families, and provide opportunities for healing and growth. The organization operates the MCS Child Advocacy Center and offers services aimed at preventing child abuse and assisting children and families affected by abuse and trauma.
The new Parenting Center represents an expansion of those efforts, emphasizing education and family support as essential components of child protection.
As construction moves forward, the facility is expected to provide additional opportunities for parents and caregivers to access support while helping create safer, more nurturing homes for children throughout Manatee County.
