Manatee Clerk to Host Passport Saturday Event April 11
Residents who need to apply for a passport for the first time or renew a long-expired passport will have a special weekend opportunity next month.
The Manatee Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller will open its passport office on Saturday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to noon as part of its annual Passport Saturday event. The event is designed to accommodate individuals who are unable to visit the office during regular weekday business hours.
Passport Saturday is open to first-time applicants, parents renewing a child’s passport and adults renewing a passport that was issued more than 15 years ago. The event operates on a walk-in basis, and no appointments are required. All applicants must be present at the time of application.
Officials encourage applicants to complete their passport application in advance. The form can be downloaded from the U.S. Department of State website.
Applicants attending the event must bring a check or money order payable to the U.S. Department of State. A second form of payment is required for Clerk of Court fees and may be made by cash, check, credit or debit card. Individuals must also provide a valid government-issued photo ID. First-time applicants and minors under 16 must present original proof of citizenship. Those renewing a passport must bring their expired passport book or card.
Passport photos will be available on-site for a nominal fee.
Applicants who arrive without a check or money order payable to the U.S. Department of State will be required to leave and return with the proper payment, forfeiting their place in line.
For additional information, residents may contact the Passport Division at 941-741-4022 or visit the Clerk’s website.
