Manatee Clerk’s Office Seeks Owners of More Than $37,000 in Unclaimed Funds Before Sept. 1 Deadline
The Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller is encouraging residents and businesses to check whether they are owed a portion of more than $37,000 in unclaimed funds before the Sept. 1, 2026, deadline.
According to the Clerk’s Office, the annual list includes 645 unclaimed checks totaling $37,000.57. The checks were issued during 2024 and include jury duty payments, court fee refunds, vendor invoices and other court-related payments.
Individuals or businesses who believe they are entitled to receive the funds must submit a notarized written claim or a court motion to the Manatee Clerk’s Office by Sept. 1. Any funds that remain unclaimed after the deadline will be forfeited in accordance with Florida law.
The Clerk’s Office noted that checks can go unclaimed for many reasons, including changes of address, missed notifications or other circumstances that prevent recipients from receiving payment.
The complete list of unclaimed funds is available on the Manatee Clerk’s website. Those with questions about the claims process may contact the Clerk’s Accounting Division by email at clerkaccounting@manateeclerk.com or by phone at 941-749-1800.
