Manatee County Accepting Applications for Public Library Advisory Board
Manatee County is accepting applications for two (2) seats on the Manatee County Library Advisory Board.
This board serves in an advisory capacity to the Library Services Manager and assists the Board of County Commissioners in providing and improving library services throughout the County in compliance with Florida law. The primary function of the Library Advisory Board is to advise and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on matters pertaining to the County library system.
The board seats are appointed by the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) as follows:
A representative for Manatee County At-Large– An applicant must be a resident of Manatee County to be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.
A representative for Unincorporated Manatee County– An applicant must be a resident of Unincorporated Manatee County to be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.
Each member is appointed for a term of four years. The advisory board meets on the third Wednesday of each month in the Downtown Central Library, 1301 Barcarrota Blvd. W. in Bradenton.
Each applicant must submit an online application by January 5, 2025.
