Manatee County Calendar Highlights Events, Jobs, Arts, and Family Activities January 5–12
Residents across Manatee County will find a full slate of opportunities to connect, learn, and enjoy the community during the week of January 5 through January 12, 2026. From career opportunities and inclusive recreation to arts, entertainment, and family-friendly gatherings, local governments and organizations are offering events for all ages.
On Thursday, January 8, the School District of Manatee County will host a Job Fair at the Wakeland Support Center, located at 1812 27th Street East in Bradenton. Running from 9 a.m. to noon, the event will showcase employment opportunities, including teacher aides, food service staff, bus drivers and aides, maintenance workers, custodians, vehicle mechanics, and school nurses. Both full-time and substitute nursing positions are available, and district representatives will be on site to discuss benefits, career paths, and application requirements.
Families and individuals of all abilities can also take advantage of the Free Tennis Clinic offered through the Tennis for Fun program at Lakewood Ranch Park. Designed for participants of all ages and abilities, including individuals with special needs, the clinic emphasizes basic tennis skills, physical activity, and social connection in a supportive environment. Sessions are held on Sundays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Tennis Court No. 4 and continue through April.
Outdoor family entertainment continues with Movies Under the Stars events hosted at locations in Parrish and Bradenton. On Friday, January 9, families are invited to Mixon Fruit Farms in Bradenton from 6 to 8 p.m. for an evening movie screening. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly night under the stars.
Arts and culture take center stage this week at the Manatee Performing Arts Center. Music lovers can enjoy Fleetwood Max, a high-energy tribute concert honoring the legendary sound of Fleetwood Mac with faithful performances of the band’s most iconic hits.
Theatergoers can also experience Terms of Endearment, the stage adaptation of the beloved story that follows the emotional, often humorous relationship between a mother and daughter across decades. Together, these productions highlight the Florida Cultural Group’s commitment to bringing high-quality live music and theater to the community.
