Manatee County Celebrates Veterans Day 2024
MANATEE COUNTY, FL (October 29, 2024) – Manatee County Government offices and all Manatee County libraries will be closed Monday, November 11, 2024, to commemorate Veterans Day.
“Veterans Day is a time to reflect upon the sacrifices made by our Veterans to protect our freedoms and uphold the principals of liberty, justice and democracy,” said Manatee County at-large Commissioner Jason Bearden. “The citizens of Manatee County are proud to acknowledge the bravery and dedication of our veterans.”

Manatee County Fairgrounds (1303 17th St. W., Palmetto)
Everyone is invited to the FREE event designed to get veterans connected to community resources. A Veterans Amnesty Court and Manatee County Veterans Services representatives will be there, as well as live music, fun and food. Veterans can receive haircuts, medical, dental and eye exams and screenings, as well as showers and hygiene items. There will be a career fair, raffles and information about obtaining Florida Identification Cards and Drivers Licenses. A free shuttle service to the Fairgrounds is available at the Downtown Bradenton Transit Station (1301 6th Ave. W., Bradenton). For information call 941 -747-1509

The Manatee Community Concert Band kicks off their season at 3 p.m., November 2, with their first concert of the season. This is a paid ticketed event; however, active and retired military personnel with receive a complimentary ticket if claimed at the box office by October 31.
Manatee County Veterans Council Veterans Day Parade

The Manatee County Veterans Council and City of Palmetto will co host the Veteran's Day Parade. All Veteran organizations, JROTC, high schools and other bands are invited to participate. The parade will form and step off from the Manatee County Fairgrounds at 9:30 a.m. and end at Sutton Park. Parade staging begins at 8 a.m. After the parade, the annual Veteran's Day Memorial Service will begin at 11 a.m.

NOTE: Due to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the Annual Anna Maria Old Soldiers & Sailors Veterans parade has been canceled. They are hoping and planning to be back strong next year
Reschedules include the following:
Trash, recycling and yard waste collections for the week are NOT impacted by the Veterans Day holiday and will follow the normal collection schedule. Debris removal operations will also continue.
Manatee County Library locations will be closed on Monday, November 11, and will reopen Tuesday, November 12.
Manatee County parks and natural preserves will be open to the public. The Manatee Public Beach on Anna Maria Island is open. Other Manatee County Beaches will open as conditions permit.
The G.T. Bray Recreation Center will be open November 11 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., but the pool will remain open until 3 p.m. with a modified group exercise class schedule. The C.V. Walton Center will be closed. All check-ins for racquet sports, basketball and pool will be at the recreation center. The Manatee County Golf Course is closed for seeding, but the Buffalo Creek Golf Course will be open.
Manatee County Area Transit (MCAT), the Anna Maria Island Trolley and regular weekday Handy Bus will operate as normal (pending curfew restrictions and available access to roadways).
