Manatee County Code Enforcement Officers Go Above and Beyond in Community Cleanup Efforts
Manatee County’s Code Enforcement Officers are being recognized for their dedication and hands-on service, as they have stepped in to resolve lingering community concerns, including storm debris removal and the cleanup of hazardous areas.
Officers Dornon and Joyce recently took action to remove a large trampoline that had been lodged in a canal since Hurricane Helene. Despite previous attempts by community partners, the debris remained an unresolved issue until the officers intervened with the right tools and determination to clear the obstruction fully.
In a separate incident, the code enforcement team responded to the site of a fire tied to a homeless encampment. Working quickly, officers cleared and cleaned the area to ensure public safety and restore order.
Code Enforcement Officers in Manatee County play a vital role in maintaining community standards and quality of life. Their responsibilities include investigating complaints, enforcing county codes related to property maintenance, zoning, signage, abandoned vehicles, and unsafe structures, as well as partnering with other departments to address environmental and public safety concerns.
