Manatee County Commissioners to Consider Budget Amendments, Transit Grants, and Utility Projects at Feb. 10 Meeting
The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners will convene for its regular meeting on Tuesday, February 10, at 9 a.m., with a full agenda that includes awards and proclamations, a wide-ranging consent agenda, legislative public hearings, and several policy discussions affecting county services and infrastructure.
The meeting will open with an invocation led by Reverend Brock Patterson of Longboat Island Chapel, followed by announcements and general public comments. Commissioners will recognize community and professional achievements through several presentations, including Florida Fire Chiefs Association award presentations, a posthumous Heroism Award, and the February 2026 Team Member of the Month. The board will also consider proclamations recognizing the Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival, the 60th anniversary of the CWC-FPRA, Florida Cracker Trail Ride Week, and Lakewood Ranch Community Emergency Response Team Day.
A substantial consent agenda is scheduled, covering items from multiple departments. Among them are changes to aircraft liability insurance for county-owned unmanned aircraft, approval of a proposed $250,000 settlement in litigation involving Duncan Seawall, Dock and Boat Lift, LLC, and amendments related to water taxi operations and the City of Anna Maria pier repair and rebuild project. Financial items include infrastructure sales tax budget amendments, additional funding authorizations for electrical and security guard services, and approval of purchase orders for sewer-cleaning equipment.
Government relations items include acceptance of a donation from Fit2Run benefiting Robinson Preserve, authorization of federal and state public transit grant agreements, and applications for off-cycle environmental funding. Two previously scheduled development agreement resolutions, Project Grace and Project Phoenix, have been removed from the agenda.
The board will also consider utilities and infrastructure matters, including implementation of the Lead Service Line Inventory Project funded through the Florida State Revolving Fund, and an annual joint funding agreement with the U.S. Geological Survey. Property management items include acceptance of a utilities easement in Parrish and approval of a landscape maintenance agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation for improvements along State Road 64.
Legislative public hearings include proposed right-of-way vacations in Myakka City and updates to the infrastructure sales tax project and equipment list. During the regular agenda, commissioners will receive an update on the county’s solid waste collection program and hear reports on the public works on-call report process.
Commissioner agenda items will address potential adjustments to board rules related to public hearings, Juneteenth 2026 sponsorship, and grant funding eligibility requirements for mental health and treatment facilities. The meeting will conclude with county attorney, administrator, and commissioner comments, followed by adjournment.
The meeting is open to the public and includes multiple opportunities for public comment throughout the agenda.

How about bigger cubicles for their employees in the new admin building.
