Manatee County Commissioners to Honor Retirees and Approve April Awareness Proclamations at April 1 Meeting
At the upcoming April 1, 2025, meeting of the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners, the board will recognize two longtime public servants with retirement awards and vote on several proclamations and resolutions as part of a full agenda.
Rossina Leider, Planning Section Manager, and Mark Regis, EMS Deputy Chief of Training, will be honored for their dedicated service to Manatee County during the awards and presentations portion of the meeting.
Commissioners will also consider the adoption of three April proclamations, each requiring a motion for approval. The proclamations include designating April 2025 as "Donate Life Month" and "Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month" and recognizing April 9, 2025, as "Sexual Assault Awareness Day" in Manatee County.
The consent agenda features a wide range of items, including approval of the Clerkâs Consent Agenda, multiple intergovernmental meeting authorizations, a budget amendment resolution, and infrastructure-related actions. These include updates to reclamation surety bonds, a culvert replacement agreement, and acceptance of property deeds in Palmetto and Bradenton.
Commissioners will also vote on resolutions authorizing joint meetings with several local government entities, including the City of Holmes Beach, the Manatee County School Board, and the Sarasota County Commission, throughout 2025.
Additional items include the renewal of flood insurance policies, authorization of a settlement proposal expiration, and support for environmental initiatives such as a tipping fee waiver for the 2025 Suncoast Reef & Beach Clean-up.
Public comment will be accepted for consent agenda items, and commissioners may pull items for separate discussion before final approval.
