Manatee County Deputies Investigate Early Morning Shooting in Bradenton That Leaves One Dead, Another Injured
Detectives with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting early Sunday morning in Bradenton that left one man dead and another injured.
Patrol deputies reported they were conducting routine patrol when they heard multiple gunshots coming from the 5200 block of 14th Street West. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered a white vehicle stopped in the roadway surrounded by numerous spent shell casings.
Inside the vehicle, deputies found two adult men suffering from gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately began providing first aid until emergency medical personnel arrived.
One of the victims, a 27-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, a 22-year-old man, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released the identities of the victims.
The case has been assigned to the sheriff’s office homicide unit for further investigation. Based on preliminary information gathered at the scene, investigators believe the shooting was targeted and not a random act of violence.
No arrests have been announced as the investigation remains ongoing.
