Four drivers were arrested on DUI charges during a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office saturation patrol conducted Friday, Aug. 21, as part of an ongoing effort to identify and remove impaired drivers from local roadways.
During the operation, deputies arrested four motorists for driving under the influence and conducted DUI testing on three additional individuals.
Deputies also made two misdemeanor arrests and issued one criminal traffic summons.
The sheriff’s office Traffic Unit issued a total of 56 civil traffic citations and 23 warnings during the saturation patrol.
DUI saturation patrols place additional law enforcement officers in areas where impaired driving may be more likely, with deputies focusing on identifying drivers who show signs of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office plans to conduct its next DUI saturation patrol on Friday, Sept. 4.
