Manatee County Emergency Operations Center Opens Doors for Public Preparedness Tour
This Saturday, August 16, Manatee County’s Public Safety Emergency Management team will host a free preparedness presentation and guided tour of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Public Safety Center, located at 2101 47th Terrace East, Bradenton, FL 34203. The event is open to the public, offering residents an inside look at the county’s central hub for disaster response and coordination.
The EOC serves as the command center during emergencies such as hurricanes, floods, wildfires, and other major incidents. Staffed by representatives from multiple agencies, it facilitates communication, resource deployment, and decision-making to ensure public safety and maintain essential services during crises.
Visitors will learn how emergency managers monitor developing situations, coordinate with local, state, and federal partners, and implement response plans to protect the community. The tour also provides an opportunity to ask questions and better understand how residents can prepare for and respond to emergencies.
The Public Safety Center regularly activates the EOC during severe weather events, large-scale incidents, and other community emergencies.
