Manatee County Events Roundup: Music, Family Fun and Community Learning Highlight Early April
Residents across Manatee County will find a wide variety of events taking place from March 30 through April 6, 2026, with local organizations bringing music, education, and family-friendly activities to the community.
The Manatee County Music Series continues its spring schedule with a free outdoor concert from 6 to 8 p.m. On Friday, April 3, Parrish Community Park will host The Doodz as part of the First Fridays series.
The City of Bradenton’s Music in the Park series continues at the Riverwalk Pavilion with free concerts every Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. On April 3, the Karen and Jimmy Band will perform rock and pop hits, launching a month of live entertainment along the downtown waterfront.
Families are invited to a special literacy-focused event on Wednesday, April 1, as Soar in 4 takes place at The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature in Bradenton from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event will feature the children’s book Peter’s Chair by Ezra Jack Keats as its spotlight story. Participants will learn how to use free educational materials and books to support learning at home through play and exploration. Supplies will be available while they last.
The City of Palmetto will host multiple events on Friday, April 3, beginning with the De Soto Children’s Parade and ELC Party in the Park at 10 a.m. along 10th Street West and Sutton Park.
That evening, Sutton Park will transform into an outdoor theater for Movie Night at 8:30 p.m., featuring The Lorax. The event runs until 10 p.m. and offers a family-friendly way to close out the day.
Florida Suncoast Safe Kids Day will take place Friday, April 3, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Mall at University Town Center in Sarasota. The free event includes interactive activities and safety education focused on water safety, car seats, biking and home safety.
Local first responders and community organizations will be available to provide resources and demonstrations designed to help families prevent injuries and stay safe.
The Manatee Performing Arts Center will host Totally Tom Petty Las Vegas on Saturday, April 4 at 7 p.m., featuring a high-energy tribute to the music of Tom Petty. Led by Phil Dunget, the show recreates the sound and stage presence of the legendary artist, featuring well-known hits and a full concert experience for fans.
From live music and theater to literacy programs and family-friendly events, the first week of April offers residents numerous ways to connect, learn and enjoy time together.
Many events are free and open to the public, continuing Manatee County’s focus on accessible programming that supports families, education and community engagement.
