Manatee County Extends Burn Ban Through November 17
Manatee County officials have extended the countywide burn ban through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, November 17, due to continued dry conditions and elevated fire risks. The ban prohibits most outdoor burning activities to reduce the chance of wildfires.
Some exceptions remain in place under strict conditions. Residents may use outdoor cookers or grills if they are supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Authorized agricultural, silvicultural, or land-clearing burns approved by the Florida Forest Service are also allowed, provided there is sufficient fire suppression equipment and personnel on site. Properly permitted public fireworks displays with safety measures in place, as well as flares discharged over the Gulf, are allowed.
Officials continue to urge residents to exercise caution when using any outdoor flame and to report any violations to local law enforcement or fire authorities. The ban will be reassessed as weather conditions change.
