Manatee County Extends Burn Ban Through Jan. 23 Amid Dry Conditions
Officials have extended the countywide burn ban in Manatee County through 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 23 as dry, drought-like conditions and gusty winds continue to elevate wildfire risk.
The extension is intended to reduce the potential for accidental fires and protect residents, property, and natural areas during a period of heightened fire danger. County leaders urge the public to remain cautious and comply with restrictions until conditions improve.
While most open burning remains prohibited, several activities are still permitted under the ban. Outdoor grills may be used as long as they are attended at all times. Agricultural burns are allowed with proper permits, as are permitted public fireworks displays. Flares used over the Gulf are also permitted.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed, follow safety guidelines, and report any signs of wildfire activity to authorities promptly.
