Manatee County Extends Countywide Burn Ban Through January 12
Manatee County officials have extended the countywide burn ban through Monday, January 12, at 11:59 p.m., citing continued dry weather and windy conditions that elevate the risk of accidental fires.
The extension is intended to help protect residents, property, and natural areas as wildfire danger remains elevated across the region. Prolonged dry conditions, combined with seasonal winds, increase the likelihood that small outdoor fires could spread quickly.
During the burn ban, most open burning is prohibited. Limited exceptions remain in place, including the use of attended outdoor grills and other specifically permitted activities. Residents are urged to follow all restrictions carefully and use caution when engaging in any approved outdoor fire-related activities.
County officials continue to monitor weather conditions and fire risk and will provide updates as conditions change. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and take proactive steps to help keep neighborhoods and natural spaces safe.
