Manatee County Extends Home Recovery Program Deadline and Announces Applicant Pop-up Events
Manatee County has extended the application window for the Lasting Manatee Home Recovery Program. Previously scheduled to close on June 30, the pre-application will now remain open until August 31, and the full application will now remain open until September 30. Homeowners still experiencing damage from Hurricanes Debby, Helene, or Milton are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to learn whether they are eligible for assistance.
“We strongly encourage eligible homeowners to apply now so that we can help them move forward in their recovery with the funds we have available,” said Ashley Schnitker, Grants Division Manager. The Home Recovery Program offers up to $250,000 for repairs and up to $450,000 for home replacement or elevation for applicants earning up to 120 percent of the area median income.
To ensure residents have easy access to in‑person assistance, Lasting Manatee will continue to host applicant intake pop‑up events. The next will take place in Rubonia on Tuesday, June 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Rubonia Community Center (1309 72nd Street East, Palmetto, FL 34221). A second event will take place on Thursday, July 9, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Myakka Community Center (10060 Wauchula Road, Myakka City, FL 34251) to serve residents in East County. Staff will be available at both events to help residents complete their applications, understand document requirements, and identify if they qualify for assistance under the Home Recovery Program.
“Recovery takes time, and we want residents to know this program is here to help,” said District 2 Commissioner Amanda Ballard. “Extending the deadline and bringing application support directly into our communities will make it easier for more families to connect with the assistance they need.”
Residents who cannot attend a pop-up event may apply at any time online at www.LastingManatee.org, by calling 941-742-4787, or by seeking in-person assistance at the Lasting Manatee Intake Center, located at 1012 Manatee Avenue West in Bradenton, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
