Manatee County Fire Chiefs to Hold September 11 Tribute to Heroes at Rossi Park
The Manatee County Fire Chiefs’ Association will hold its annual September 11 Tribute to Heroes ceremony on Friday, Sept. 11, at Rossi Park in Bradenton.
The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. near the First Responder Memorial at Rossi Park, 452 Third Ave. W. The community is invited to join local first responders in remembering those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and honoring the service and sacrifice of first responders.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, which claimed nearly 3,000 lives and became one of the deadliest days in American history.
The Bradenton ceremony will include an honor guard, flag ceremony, 21-gun salute and dove release as part of the community observance.
The annual Tribute to Heroes provides an opportunity for residents, firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel and other members of the community to gather in remembrance of those who died and recognize the first responders who rushed to help others during and after the attacks.
The ceremony is open to the public.
