Manatee County High School Football: Hurricanes Celebrate Homecoming Victory and Hall of Honor Inductions
It was a night to remember across Manatee County high school football fields as teams wrapped up another week of competition, highlighted by a big homecoming win and the honoring of local sports legends.
The Manatee Hurricanes capped their Homecoming Week with a commanding 55–20 victory over the Braden River Pirates. The celebration extended beyond the field as members of the 1985 state championship team, Austin Jensen (Class of 2007), along with Bradenton Mayor Gene Brown, were inducted into the Manatee High School Hall of Honor during halftime. The ceremony recognized their lasting contributions to Hurricane athletics and the community.
Elsewhere in the county, the Parrish Community Bulls powered past Lakewood Ranch 29–10, and the Palmetto Tigers secured a 31–6 win over Lennard. The Southeast Seminoles edged out Northeast 26–21 in a close battle.
In private school play, Bradenton Christian defeated Donahue Catholic 42–24, and Saint Stephen’s Episcopal earned a strong 37–14 victory over Canterbury. The Bayshore Bruins came up just short against Gibbs, falling 23–19.
With the regular season nearing its conclusion, Manatee County teams are looking to carry this week’s momentum into their final matchups and potential postseason runs.
