Manatee County Invites Public Input on Future Crooked River Preserve
Manatee County invites residents to attend a public meeting to learn about and provide input on the proposed Crooked River Preserve, a new environmental and recreational space planned along the Manatee River in Parrish. The meeting will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Rocky Bluff Branch Library.
The Crooked River Preserve is part of the county’s ongoing efforts to expand access to natural areas while enhancing environmental protection. Once completed, the preserve will offer a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, picnicking, and camping. Plans also include environmental education programming to engage the public and promote stewardship of the area’s natural resources.
Situated along the riverfront, the preserve will serve as a vital conservation area, helping to protect native wildlife habitats and improve local water quality. Community input gathered at the meeting will help shape the preserve's future, ensuring it meets both ecological and recreational goals.
