Manatee County is launching its first-ever Community Survey this fall, giving residents an opportunity to share their views on quality of life, county services and priorities for the community.
The survey will be conducted independently by the University of South Florida, with 1,250 Manatee County residents randomly selected to participate during September and October.
Residents selected for the survey may receive a call on either a landline or cell phone. Responses will be recorded anonymously and confidentially.
Questions will focus on residents’ experiences in Manatee County, including their perceptions of county services, community priorities and emerging issues. County officials plan to use the findings to identify areas of concern and opportunities for improvement.
Results are expected in December and will be presented to the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners and made available to the public on the county’s website.
The inaugural survey is also intended to establish a benchmark for future years. Manatee County plans to make the Community Survey an annual effort, allowing officials to track changes in public sentiment over time and incorporate residents’ feedback into future planning and decision-making.
The survey is a partnership between Manatee County and the University of South Florida’s Center for Sustainable Democracy. Residents who are contacted during the survey period are encouraged to participate.
