Manatee County Launches Superintendent Search with Community-Focused Process
The School Board of Manatee County has officially launched its search for a new Superintendent of Schools, initiating a structured, transparent process aimed at finding the best candidate to lead the district into its next chapter.
Partnering with the Florida School Boards Association (FSBA), the board will conduct a comprehensive and inclusive recruitment process that ensures community engagement and public accessibility. A dedicated webpage on the district’s website has gone live to provide real-time updates, documentation, and timelines related to the superintendent search.
The process began on June 16, 2025, with the launch of the official job advertisement. At the June 17 School Board meeting, board members are scheduled to finalize key components of the search, including desired qualifications, salary range, and advertising venues.
Applications will remain open until July 16, closing at 11:59 PM EST. As submissions are received, they will be posted publicly online to maintain complete transparency. The board is expected to identify semi-finalists by July 29.
From July 29 to August 12, candidates will undergo thorough background checks and receive feedback from the community. Finalists will be selected by August 12, followed by two days of interviews with board members and public meet-and-greet sessions on August 18 and 19.
The School Board is set to make its final selection on August 26, followed by contract negotiations. The finalized contract for the new Superintendent is scheduled to be completed by September 9, 2025.
The School District of Manatee County continues to emphasize its commitment to an open, equitable process that reflects the needs and voices of its students, families, educators, and community stakeholders.
