Manatee County Lifts Burn Ban as Conditions Improve
Manatee County officials have lifted the countywide burn ban following improved environmental conditions and a reduced risk of wildfires.
The burn ban had been put in place during a period of heightened fire danger, as dry conditions and elevated temperatures increased the likelihood of brush fires across the region. Recent changes in weather patterns and moisture levels have helped lower that risk, allowing officials to ease restrictions.
Despite the lifting of the ban, residents are still encouraged to exercise caution when conducting any outdoor burning. Officials emphasize the importance of following guidelines set by the Florida Forest Service to help prevent accidental fires and protect nearby properties and natural areas.
Residents planning to burn yard debris or other materials should ensure they are complying with all safety recommendations, including monitoring weather conditions, maintaining control of fires at all times, and avoiding burning during windy periods.
