Manatee County Names New Director of Governmental Relations
MANATEE COUNTY, FL (January 8, 2024) – The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has confirmed Stephanie Garrison as the County’s new Director of Government Relations.
This position is responsible for the coordination of community, intergovernmental and legislative issues of interest to Manatee County. The position also includes managing economic development and business relations functions, as well as oversight of communications, information management, and the Manatee County 3-1-1 service.
“Her diverse expertise and dynamic leadership will drive innovative and impactful outcomes for Manatee County,” said Deputy County Administrator Courtney De Pol in her introduction of Ms. Garrison to the BOCC.
Stephanie Garrison has most recently served as a Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Joe Gruters, where she has honed her skills in policy development and stakeholder relations. She also owns Playtri Sarasota, a thriving bike and triathlon store that reflects her entrepreneurial spirit. A dedicated triathlete, Stephanie credits the sport with sharpening her focus, perseverance, and ability to strategize under pressure – qualities she brings to her leadership roles. Before that, she spent 14 years at Apple in multiple senior leadership roles, including leading global HR and retail initiatives, managing change for a workforce of 200,000, and developing internal mobility programs.
A graduate of the University of Virginia with additional certifications in project management and culinary arts, Stephanie speaks multiple languages and has been an active community leader.
