Residents of unincorporated Manatee County have a no-cost option for disposing of old furniture, appliances and other large household items through the county’s residential bulk collection program.
Residential customers may place up to two bulk items at the curb once each month on their assigned, zoned service day. Commonly accepted items include furniture, grills without propane tanks, appliances and tires.
Residents can find their assigned monthly bulk collection day using Manatee County’s Resident Information Tool at mymanatee.org/bigbin.
Certain items require additional arrangements. Tires and appliances must be scheduled in advance through the county’s Customer Self-Service Portal at mymanatee.org/css or by calling 311.
In addition to the monthly service, each eligible property may schedule one large-bulk collection per year for a load of 10 cubic yards or less. The annual collection also must be scheduled in advance through the Customer Self-Service Portal.
The program is available to residential properties in unincorporated Manatee County and is provided at no additional cost to residents.
Residents are encouraged to check their scheduled collection day and review requirements before placing large items at the curb. Additional information about accepted items, scheduling and collection guidelines is available at mymanatee.org/bigbin.
