Manatee County Officers Join Security Efforts for Presidential Inauguration
Fifteen officers from the Bradenton Police Department (BPD) are among the thousands of local, state, and federal law enforcement personnel assisting with security at Monday's presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C. As they departed for the nation's capital yesterday, Chief Bevan saw them off, ensuring they were equipped with essential cold-weather gear to face the frigid temperatures expected during the historic event.
The officers receive their assignments as they integrate into the larger security operation. Their participation continues BPD's long-standing tradition of contributing to major national events, including previous presidential inaugurations and both Republican and Democratic National Conventions.
In addition to the BPD contingent, officers from the Palmetto Police Department, Holmes Beach Police Department, Bradenton Beach Police Department, and New College of Florida Police Department are also present to support security measures. Deputies from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office have joined the effort, reinforcing the region's commitment to public safety on a national stage.
The law enforcement teams will work closely with their counterparts from across the country, implementing strategies to ensure a safe and orderly inauguration. The collaboration highlights the professionalism and dedication of Manatee County's law enforcement agencies in safeguarding national events of significance.
