Manatee County Officials Sworn In During Ceremonial Event
BRADENTON, FL — Manatee County celebrated the official swearing-in ceremonies of key constitutional officers today, marking the commencement of new and continued terms for its leadership.
Sheriff Rick Wells officially began his third term as Sheriff of Manatee County, taking the oath of office administered by the Honorable Judge Gilbert Smith, Jr., in the presence of family, friends, and colleagues. He reflected on the accomplishments of the past eight years and commended the tireless efforts of the men and women of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, emphasizing their role in maintaining community safety and quality of life.
Charlie Hackney was sworn in for another term as Manatee County Property Appraiser. The retired Honorable Duran Adams administered the ceremonial oath. Hackney, first elected in 1992, continues his long-standing service to the county and is committed to fairness and professionalism in property assessments.
Clerk Angel Colonneso also began her third term as Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller. The ceremony occurred in the historic courtroom at the Manatee County Historic Courthouse, with Judge Gilbert Smith Jr. presiding over the oath of office. Colonneso reaffirmed her commitment to transparency and public service in managing the county’s records and court services.
Scott Farrington was sworn in for his first term as Manatee County Supervisor of Elections. After more than a decade of service within the Manatee Elections Office, he officially assumed leadership of the office, bringing extensive experience and dedication to overseeing fair and secure elections in the county.
The ceremonies highlighted the county’s tradition of experienced leadership and commitment to public service. Each official pledged to continue serving the community with integrity and diligence.
