Manatee County Opens Home Recovery Program for Hurricane-Impacted Residents
Manatee County has launched the pre-application phase of its Home Recovery Program, marking a significant step in long-term recovery efforts following recent hurricanes. The program is part of the county’s $252,711,000 allocation through the Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery initiative, known locally as Lasting Manatee.
The Home Recovery Program is designed to assist residents whose homes were impacted by hurricanes Debby, Helene, or Milton. Eligible homeowners may qualify for assistance that includes home repairs, full replacement, or elevation improvements aimed at reducing future storm risk.
County officials introduced the program during an April 21, 2026, regular meeting of the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners, where a detailed overview and walkthrough of the application process were presented.
To support applicants, the county has released a document checklist outlining the materials that may be required during the application process. Officials encourage residents to review the checklist in advance to ensure they are prepared.
Applications and additional program details are available through the Lasting Manatee website.
