Manatee County Residents Among Those Pardoned by President Trump
Four residents of Manatee County are among the individuals pardoned or granted commuted sentences by President Donald Trump in connection to the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot. The clemency orders, announced Monday, are part of a broader effort affecting approximately 1,500 individuals charged or convicted concerning the events at the Capitol.
Among those pardoned is a Parrish man who gained national attention after a viral photo showed him carrying Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lectern through the Capitol building. A Bradenton man, who entered the building with his parents, was also included in the pardons. Additionally, two local individuals with affiliations to the Proud Boys were granted clemency.
