Manatee County Road and Ramp Closures Announced Through April
Drivers in Manatee County should prepare for multiple road and interstate ramp closures through April 1 and beyond as local and state transportation departments conduct ongoing infrastructure improvements.
The Florida Department of Transportation has scheduled overnight closures of the I-75 southbound exit ramp to US 301 (Exit 224) from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on March 24, 25, and 26. Detour routes will be in place to guide motorists during the closures, and delays are expected in the area.
Bridge work will also continue on I-75 at 44th Avenue East, prompting lane closures during nighttime hours. On Tuesday, March 25, the northbound double outside lanes will close at 8 p.m. and reopen by 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. The following night, March 26, the northbound double inside lanes will be closed during the same time frame.
Additional local road closures are set to begin on April 1, including the full closure of 127th Street West between Cortez Road and 126th Street West. That closure is expected to last through May 1. Another closure is planned for 51st Street West at 33rd Avenue Drive West, near the entrance to G.T. Bray Park, from April 1 to May 1.
Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes, allow extra travel time, and stay updated through the Manatee County Road Closure Map and FDOT’s RoadWatch reports for the latest information on active and upcoming closures.
