Manatee County Search and Rescue Adds New Squad Vehicle to Enhance Emergency Response Capabilities
Manatee County Search and Rescue has expanded its operational fleet with the addition of a new response vehicle, Squad 1, to improve efficiency and readiness during emergency situations across the region.
The newly acquired unit was funded through the nonprofit organization’s fundraising efforts and support from a partnership with the St. Croix Falls Fire Department in Wisconsin. The collaboration helped make the purchase possible by working with the agency on a reduced acquisition cost.
Squad 1 is designed to serve as a mobile support unit, often described as a rolling toolbox, equipped with specialized gear to support a variety of missions. The vehicle will play a key role in operations, including missing persons searches, disaster response efforts, and other specialized deployments.
Officials say the addition of Squad 1 will allow teams to respond more quickly and effectively by ensuring critical tools and equipment are readily available on scene. The vehicle is expected to strengthen coordination with public safety partners and enhance overall mission capability throughout Manatee County and surrounding areas.
The new unit reflects the organization’s continued commitment to preparedness and service, reinforcing its role in supporting emergency response efforts and safeguarding the community.
