Manatee County Seeks Applicants for Affordable Housing Advisory Committee
Manatee County is seeking volunteers to fill six (6) openings on its Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.
The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) reviews local regulations, evaluates state-required incentive strategies, and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners to reduce barriers and increase housing options for residents.
“This citizens group recommends policies and incentives to help expand and preserve affordable housing in the community,” said Michael Strollo, Manatee County Community and Veterans Affairs communications coordinator.
AHAC members represent a broad range of housing-related fields. Manatee County is accepting applications for the following seats:
Seat 2: Citizen actively engaged in the banking or mortgage banking industry in connection with affordable housing (term through Dec. 31, 2029)
Seat 4: Citizen actively engaged as an advocate for low-income persons in connection with affordable housing (term through Dec. 31, 2029).

Seat 11: Citizen who represents essential services personnel, as defined in the local housing assistance plan (term through Dec. 31, 2028).

The committee meets select Mondays throughout the year from 3 to 5 p.m. at 1112 Manatee Avenue West, Manatee Room (5th Floor), Bradenton, FL 34205.
