Manatee County Set for Family Fun, Fitness, and Education July 7–14
BRADENTON, FL – As summer hits full swing, Manatee County’s event calendar is packed with educational programs, outdoor fitness, cultural experiences, and free family fun from Bradenton Beach to Palmetto.
Community Fitness and Conservation
On Saturday, July 12, runners will take to the shore at Coquina Beach for the Run Manatee 5K, part of the county’s 2025 series promoting health and community connection. The event takes place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Coquina Beach, located at 1495 Gulf Dr S, Bradenton Beach, and offers stunning Gulf views for both participants and spectators.
Also on July 12, the Humane Society of Manatee County will host a Hurricane Preparedness Pet Clinic at its veterinary facility, located at 14th Street West, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event includes free microchipping, rabies vaccines, and vouchers for spay/neuter services, available to residents on a first-come, first-served basis.
Arts, Agriculture, and Education
Wednesday, July 9, the Manatee County Agricultural Museum continues its "Make It Take It" series with the theme “By Golly, It’s By-Products!” Kids and families can explore how animals like pigs contribute to everyday products through creative crafts and interactive stations.
On the same evening, the Soar in 4 Family Night returns from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature in downtown Bradenton. This monthly free event offers learning activities for children and resources for caregivers.
At the Palmetto Branch Library, children are invited to dig into marine archaeology on Saturday, July 12, at 10 a.m. in a special hands-on program in partnership with the Florida Maritime Museum.
Music and Movies Across the County
On Friday, July 11, country music fans can head to Woody’s River Roo in Ellenton for a free live performance by local favorite Crossfire Creek. The show starts at 7 p.m. along the Manatee River’s scenic shoreline.
Families can also enjoy $1 summer movies at participating Regal Theatres throughout the county. On July 8–9, featured flicks include Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Paw Patrol: The Movie—perfect for a cool midweek escape.
Coastal Education and Nature Programs
Every Monday morning from 10 to 11 a.m., the Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch presents Turtle Tracks & Shorebird Facts at Holmes Beach City Hall. Visitors of all ages can learn about nesting sea turtles and local bird species in a relaxed, beachside setting.
