Manatee County to Break Ground on Valor Commons Veterans Campus in Palmetto
Manatee County Government is inviting the public, veterans, community partners, and media to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Valor Commons, the County’s future Veterans Connection Hub and Memorial Campus.
The ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 1 p.m. at 5215 Buckeye Road in Palmetto.
Valor Commons is envisioned as a landmark destination dedicated to honoring and supporting America’s military service members—past, present, and future. Once completed, the campus will provide a centralized space for veteran services, community connection, and memorial recognition.
The project is currently in the early stages of design, site configuration, and infrastructure planning. The initial phase, expected to span approximately 12 to 18 months, will focus on roadway access, utilities, early memorial elements, and the installation of a temporary structure to allow services to begin as development progresses. Full campus construction is anticipated to roll out over the following three to five years.
County officials say the groundbreaking marks an important milestone in creating a lasting tribute and resource hub for veterans and their families throughout Manatee County.
Community members are encouraged to save the date and attend the ceremony. Additional event details are available at https://www.facebook.com/events/1187024880203699.
