Manatee County to Open Animal Welfare Resource Center with Ribbon Cutting and Community Open House
Manatee County Animal Welfare will celebrate the opening of its new Animal Welfare Resource Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on June 17, marking the launch of a new community resource aimed at helping pets remain with their families.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. at the facility located at 401 17th Ave. W. in Bradenton. Residents are invited to attend the ceremony, tour the center, meet Animal Welfare staff and community partners, and learn about programs designed to support responsible pet ownership throughout the county.
The Animal Welfare Resource Center was established to connect pet owners with resources that reduce barriers to care and strengthen the bond between families and their pets. The center is expected to offer a variety of services in the future, including pet food assistance, access to affordable veterinary care, pet training and behavior support resources, and community outreach and pet wellness programs.
County officials say the center’s mission is to provide practical support that helps families care for their animals while reducing the need for pets to enter shelters due to preventable circumstances.
Following the ribbon cutting, attendees will have an opportunity to explore the facility and learn how the center plans to serve residents and their pets across Manatee County.
Limited parking will be available at the site, with additional parking located nearby along 17th Avenue West. The event is open to the public.
