Manatee County Veterans Services to Host PTSD Resource Fair
Manatee County Veterans Services will host a free PTSD Resource Fair on June 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, bringing together local organizations, service providers, and support networks to connect veterans, first responders and their families.
“This resource fair reflects our commitment to those who have served and protected our communities,” said Manatee County Commissioner Jason Bearden. “Veterans and first responders often carry unseen burdens, and it is important that they know support is available. By bringing these resources together in one place, we hope to make it easier for individuals and families to find the help they need and deserve.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with local service providers, peer support organizations, wellness professionals, and community partners offering resources related to PTSD education, mental health services, recovery programs, veteran benefits, and family support. The event is designed to increase awareness of available resources, reduce barriers to care, and foster connections within the community.
“Many people affected by PTSD do not realize how many local resources are available to help them on their journey toward healing and recovery,” said Renee Medina, division manager for Manatee County Veterans Services. “This event will provide a welcoming environment where veterans, first responders, and their loved ones can connect directly with organizations dedicated to supporting their well-being.”
According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, PTSD can affect veterans, first responders, and others who have experienced or witnessed traumatic events. Early intervention, education, and access to support services can play a critical role in recovery and long-term wellness.
Community members are encouraged to attend, learn about available resources, and connect with organizations working to support mental health and resilience throughout Manatee County.
